Tawreeq Holdings Emphasizes SCF as the Optimal Solution for Working Capital Challenges

Tawreeq Holdings was pleased to be a speaker at the TXF Middle East 2016 event, held on the 9th and 10th of November in Dubai, a successful senior-level gathering that offered a platform to debate the market’s opportunities and challenges.

The various sessions in the event explored the key pillars of trade – Exports, Project Finance, Trade, and Commodity Finance. The event brought together professionals from the export finance industry, presenting an excellent opportunity for networking and sharing the key industry insights and developments.

Sinan Ozcan, Director - Payables & Structured Finance at Tawreeq Holdings, was one of the speakers in the panel discussion on “Has Supply Chain Finance Taken Off in the Middle East?” covering the topics – “Advantages in SCF Other Than Financing”, “Increasing Awareness”, and the “Outlook for SCF”.

“Looking at the big picture, we have to embrace the fact that there are many challenges that both financial institutions and companies face,” said Sinan, referring to the low commodity prices, the new norm of low oil prices, squeezed government budgets in the region, and volatile economic conditions, naming just a few.

“SCF is the optimal solution for working capital challenges. By matching payables and receivables cycles through an SCF solution, the companies can stabilize their cash flows from their buyers and to their suppliers, naturally streamlining the cash flow and optimizing the working capital management.” Speaking on the value offered through Islamic SCF, Sinan remarked, “the market requires innovative Sharia-compliant solutions, and that is where Tawreeq pioneered in launching the world’s first comprehensive Sharia-compliant SCF solutions supporting the expansion of alternative SCF business.” Sinan also emphasized on the importance of utilizing technology in providing the efficient and full benefits of SCF to all stakeholders.

The TXF Middle East 2016 brought together a spectacular line of speakers, corporate-focused content, real-life case studies, and best practice tips for all market participants. The event provided an excellent opportunity for Tawreeq Holdings to present its perspectives and experience with major industry players on how Supply Chain Finance can promote and facilitate business relationships, and we look forward to participating in the next edition.
